LITTLE OL' ELLY

As a kid, little Elly loved everything about cartoons and video games. He spent most of his time playing around the house with cardboard boxes and designing board games out of copy paper to play with his sister. Little Elly had no idea that designing things was an actual job. Now he is actively working hard to create pleasant, fun and useful experiences for as many people as possible.

PRINTFUL UX CASE STUDY
OBJECTIVE
This case study is focused on documenting the UX process of designing a faster and smoother solution to the process of adding a new, or multiple products to Printful through their website and mobile app.

ABOUT PRINTFUL
PRINTFUL is an easy print-on-demand drop shipping and fulfillment warehouse service created to help starting entrepreneurs quickly integrate and sell custom printed products without the need of keeping inventory. Or if they do have inventory, have no need to rent a large space to keep it.

Being a user of the service, I have constantly run into some pains with their process of adding new products. Specifically when editing existing products, and adding multiple products quickly (there is no option for it currently available).

CREATING PERSONAS
Based on my experience in using the service, and my online research, I created these personas for this case study.

USER SURVEY
Created Survey for people to confirm if the problem of adding multiple products is universal for frequent users — And asked them what were their pain points when using Printful’s service.

USER STORIES
So based on the feedback of the survey and the recognized pain points, I created 5 USER STORIES for this project..

STORYBOARDING
Easily my favorite part of the process, coming from a background in visual storytelling, sketching ideas for comics and animation; I then developed 2 storyboards based on the User Stories and the Personas previously created.

WIREFRAME SKETCHING
After defining the key tasks, I started a design sprint, starting by researching similar existing solutions and sketching my initial solution ideas for user flows.

HIGH-FIDELITY
MOCKUPS
With the sketches done, I went directly to the high fidelity mockups, since Printful already has a defined style guide and structure. This whole process was created in Sketch.

PROTOTYPING
With the Hi-fi mocks created, I then moved to inVision to create prototypes. With feedback received from 3 users who took the survey, I then iterated some changes. Below are links to the InVision prototypes:

This project was focused on the UX process of launching a simple website shop and launch video of this Art collection of paintings of imagined nebulas and galaxies.

ABOUT NEBULA ENCOUNTERS
NEBULA ENCOUNTERS
is an Art collection I created of hand-painted Digital Art prints, inspired by actual Hubble images, to simulate imagined Nebulas and galaxies to look as realistic as possible, printed at the highest quality metallic paper and placed under acrylic glass.
THE CONCEPT
Initial sketches of creating these pieces. The initial compositions were inspired by mermaids, fireworks and floaty fabrics. The ultimate goal with these pieces was to make them look as real as Hubble space photos.

CREATING A PERSONA
This provisional persona was created in order to have a better idea of the type of customers I wanted to reach with the art that will need to be tested in the future with digital marketing and A/B testing.

STORYBOARDING
My favorite part of the process, coming from a background in visual storytelling, sketching ideas for comics and animation; I developed this storyboard based on the created persona, in order to have a clearer idea of who, how and why I’m developing the video and website for.

USER STORIES & KEY TASKS
After the storyboard, I had an easier time moving on to user stories. The focus was to make the website as simple as possible but still retaining the most useful information about the project.

DEFINING BRAND & STYLE
Once the objectives for the project was clear, then it was time to move on to creating the visual look and aesthetic of the brand. I decided to keep the style simple and minimal, keeping the art as the main focus of the overall look of the brand.

WIREFRAME SKETCHES
Once the Key tasks were clear, I sketched the main pages the website needed to be a functional website, with a focus on making the website as simple as possible.

VIDEO LAUNCH
With the main idea of the website shop done, it was time to produce the launch video. The main idea of the video was to showcase details of the paintings first as well to make it seem like it was a real picture, then reveal the actual physical print under glass, with the reveal of the full piece at the end. 
WEBSITE LAUNCH
Using the wireframe sketches and the launch video, I used the Shopify platform and used a simple theme to create the website. You may also see the website live, at the link below:

WEIRD FLEX, BUT OK
The art was featured in Casey Neistat’s video, at least for a second anyway. I decided to send him a copy as a gift, and it was featured for a brief moment in one of his Youtube videos.
